Everyone who is employed or associated with it is responsible for protecting the health, safety and environment of people and communities worldwide. Safety policy should seek to provide safe and healthy working conditions and enlist the active support of all staff in achieving these ends. Organisations commitment to HSE performance should be an integral part of its business, and achieving cost-effective solution is essential to long-term success. The dedication to the causes of environment and safety should be demonstrated by making one person within the organisation responsible to deal with the subject.

The model objectives of the Policy can be:

To promote standards of safety, health & welfare in accordance with the requirements of regulatory authority and also other relevant statutory provisions as well as approved codes of practices.
To maintain safe and healthy work places and safe systems and methods in all aspects of Aviation.
To protect staff and others, including the public and employees of contractors, from foreseeable work hazards on its premises and operating domains.
To equip the staff with the information, instructions, training and supervision needed for safe working.
To provide and maintain a safe and healthy working environment for staff with adequate facilities and arrangements for their welfare.
To develop safety awareness amongst the staff.
To make staff aware of their individual responsibility to take all reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and others who may be affected by their acts of omissions at work, and to cooperate with management and other staff in matters of safety.
To have required safety organisation adequately manned for the purpose.
To budget expenditure required for above purposes.

MODEL ENVIRONMENT POLICY CAN BE:

The development activities should be planned on sound ecological principle and must incorporate appropriate environmental safeguards.
Environmental norms prescribed by the Central and state government, statutorily empowered to do so, in the matter of air and water quality, noise, land use, forestation etc. should be strictly observed in the design, construction and operation of all facilities of the company.
The widest possible range of information on practical options available for the design of the project should be gathered and analysed for final decision making technology that ensures energy economy, environmental safeguards, recycling of resources and utilization of wastes should be adopted for all projects.
Aesthetic, cultural and social patterns and historical characteristics of the areas covered by or adjacent to the organisations perfects should not be unduly disturbed by the project activities. Work environment in the operational areas should be conducive to safe and healthy working conditions. Good housekeeping is an integral part of sound environmental management.
Promoting a healthy, safe, productive, and aesthetically satisfying environment is the responsibility of organisation.
